birthday poem to dear friend
"Paul Happy, 1949-, Birthday Poem." By Franklin and Betty J. Parker, [email protected]

No Poem Can Ever Do Justice To Pauly Happy On This His 69th Birthday, November 25,2013

But Here Goes:

We remember, we remember
When darling Pauly was born
'Twas in Kansas City, yes Missouri
A place of special beauty.

We remember, we remember
That cold 25th of November
'Twas in nineteen forty-four
When the whole world was at war.

And Daddy Paul
Air Force bomber pilot
Stood tall indeed
For his Country
In its Time of Need.

Nine months away from home
Imagine the thrill,
Imagine the joy,
When word came:
"It's a BOY!"
A bouncing baby Boy.

The war was raging
Dad in a plane
High in the sky
My, Oh My.

Brave Mom
And her mother
And great-grandma, too
Cuddled and loved
Little Pauly true.

Watching with concerned eye
Every time Tiny Pauly
Would coo or cry.

Pauly brought love and laughter
Sometimes he acted a little Sappy
Why not? After all,
His last name was HAPPY.

His proud Dad
far off in the war
Longed for the joy
Of holding his bouncy boy.
Little Pauly thrived,
The family rejoiced
Pauly's Dad had survived.

The war almost won,
Daddy Happy came home
To be with his son
And his dear wife, Mel
(For Melvene, of course)
His honey bun.

The three Happys
Snuggled in their nest;
Little Pauly between
Was never a pest
To be hugged in the middle
He knew was best.

When Pauly moved to his own little bed
Mel & Paul wanted a playmate when all was said
A baby girl, a sparkling gem

Five years later
To their delight,
Baby Peggy came;
Oh what a sight.

Yes, Yes, 'Twas in 'forty-nine
A gift more precious
Than gold or wine
Beautiful and pleasing
Just right for Pauly's teasing.

A new friend for every season,
New happiness for every reason
No time to rest
Play time with Peg was
Always best.

Thus, the story that began
November 25 of 1944
Has become a welcoming door.

Pauly and Peggy and Dora Too
Are all H A P PY, Strong, and True.

Now as our poem must surely end
All our love we send
And as we wend
To this HAPPY END

We Sing: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Pauly,Happy birthday to you.

[Thank you for always being you].
END. [email protected]
